Responding and interacting with items directly in the stream will make collaboration easier than ever. As you scroll down the page, the stream will automatically load older posts.
Dashboard Stream
The most important information from all your coworkers and projects, aggregated all in one place.
Group Stream
A stream of activity from within a specific part of your organization — a geographic region, a department, etc.
Project Stream
Discussions, shared files and general collaboration around a single project.
Member Stream
The activity of a single member of your organization over time. Read what they’ve been working on over the last month, how that big project is going, what they are concerned about, and more — all in one place.

Collaborating and Communicating
Status Updates
What are you working on? Share your status, your thoughts, or your questions with the entire organization or only a specific project or group right through the publisher box at the top of each page. There’s no limit to what you can share.
Announcements
Post an announcement and broadcast your important message or ask your important question to everyone in your Group. Announcements stick at the top of the page until you decide they’re no longer relevant.
Images and Photos
Request feedback on the ad in tomorrow’s paper, share the new company logo, post a photo from the staff retreat in a matter of seconds with quick previews of the rich content appearing right in the stream.
Videos
Share videos in the stream, giving colleagues one-click access to play the videos with a single click.
Links
Share a link. Post links to interesting articles, a competitor’s new website, or new printer you’d like to buy for the office. Share the link and watch the conversation go.
Documents and Files
Upload the latest version of your team’s presentation, keeping everyone on the same page. Simply drag the file from your desktop into the publisher and click upload.
Comments
Every user has the power to start discussions below items in the stream. Posting a comment is fast and simple and most importantly, members previously involved in the conversation receive a notification of the new posts. Facilitating dialogues within your community could not be any easier.
Liking
Want to show your support or agreement with content that’s been posted? Click the like button at the base of a stream item and you’ll instantly notify the poster of your support.
Deleting
If for some reason you need to remove a post or comment which you authored, simply click the remove link in the stream item. Deleting a message will permanently remove all comments and likes tied to the post.

User Roles
Advanced role-based permissions allow network administrators to grant members additional permissions to perform administrative actions on the network, and restrict or grant access to certain Apps or data.
External Contributors
External contributors allow you to bring members from outside your organization such as vendors, customers, or partners onto the network. Network admins can ensure restricted access so they see a limited view of the network.

Staff Directory
Contact Details
Every member is listed on one page with quick access to their names, titles, email addresses, and phone numbers. In larger organizations, the members list will continue to load in as you scroll the page.

Employee Profiles
NationalField member profiles show you exactly how each person fits into your organization and the contribution he/she is making each and every day.
Contact Fields
Keep all lines of communication open by putting the contact details of the members of your organization at their fingertips. NationalField offers many options by default, including Phone, Skype and AIM.
Profile Questions
Administrators can create custom profile fields for members. Let members of your organization share interests unique to the culture of your business or relevant only to your industry.
Quick Connect Buttons
Send an email, start a chat, or launch a Skype call with another member with a single click using the NationalField Quick Connect buttons.
Member Stream
Gain access to your organization’s database of months of best practices, questions, feedback and more to get a sense how each member of your organization contributes on a daily basis.
You and Member
On each profile, you’ll see a “You and Member” profile that shows you what you have in common with the member.

Subscribe
One-click Subscribing
You can easily subscribe to any member’s public updates by clicking “Subscribe” on their member profile or from the Colleagues page. Because NationalField is a private social network for your organization, only other members can subscribe to your updates.
Subscription Notifications
When you subscribe to a member of your organization, the action isn’t mutual. Instead, you will subscribe to their updates and they will be notified that you subscribed. You don’t need approval to subscribe to colleagues. A list of the members you are subscribed to will appear on your profile.

Instant Search
Instant Results
Instant Search is a powerful search tool that shows results as you type. You’ll experience faster searches as NationalField predicts your search and starts showing results before you finish typing.

Tagging
If you wanted to loop a colleague into a conversation you could tag them in a comment. If you wanted to CC a colleague, you could tag the person in your status update.
How to Tag
You tag colleagues by typing @ and then starting to type the colleague’s name. For instance, I would type @John to see a list of all John’s in the organization in the Instant Search menu. I can press tab to use the top result or use keyboard arrow keys to select the member I want to tag.
Tagging Someone Else
When you tag someone, they’ll be notified with an on-site and email notification. A link to their profile will be included in the status or comment.

When someone tags you, you’ll be notified with an on-site and email notification. A link to your profile will be included in the status or comment that tagged you.

Invite Members
One-click Invites
Invite new members to your network by typing in their email address and clicking “Invite”. The email address will need to match the domain name of your network. The invited member will also need ongoing access to the email account. An activation link will be sent to the invited member. Once the invited member clicks the activation link, they can create their profile. You can also resend the activation link to invited users later.

Getting Started
Easy Account Setup
New members are walked through a simple three step process to create their profiles the first time they login. New members are given the option to Subscribe to colleagues from around the organization or join public projects from a list of the most popular public projects already created in the network.

Interactive On-site Tutorials
Onsite Training
The first time a new member accesses NationalField, or an existing member accesses new features, they will be walked through an interactive tutorial that highlights the features right inside the page. A brief description of the feature and quick tips are shown.

Notifications
Notification Center
All notifications will appear in the upper left corner of the site. When you receive a notification, a grey bubble will appear to the right of the “Notifications” link. You’ll also see a count of unread site notifications in the title of every page. Clicking “Notifications” will reset the count to 0.
Notification Previews
Notifications are generated for site activity such as new messages, likes, comments, and status messages posted on your profile, a Group, or to a Project. From the Notifications page, you can click on any notification to be taken to the stream item that generated the notification.
Email Notifications
Members can control which emails they receive from NationalField by clicking the “Email Preferences” link in Settings. They can enable and disable each type of email notification.

Use the power of your organization’s hierarchy to quickly broadcast announcements to people in your organization. Announcements instantly show up in the streams of your team, creating a simple way to broadcast and gather public feedback.

Organize Get-Togethers
Share the details of important upcoming events like company retreats, customer symposiums and more. Organizers can advertise to organization members through the stream and allow them to easily RSVP.
Vital Details
Quick event details include date, time and location.
Post-Event Reviews
After the event, hosts can post photos and debrief the event for members who were not able to attend.

Faster Answers
You can target your questions to a colleague or a group. Improve decision making by giving every member of your organization the capability to quickly ask and get answers to questions fast.
Share Your Expertise
By clicking #question, you can see all other questions asked in your network and offer answers in areas where you’re an expert.
